Traveling to Athens, Sept. 28, the Cadott cross country squad went up against multiple schools.

Placing the highest for the Hornets, was the girls side, with senior Jaycee Stephens in 18th, in a time of 22:13.4, followed by sophomore Iszy Sonnentag for 21st place (22:27.1). Coming in as a group, were juniors Lyla Weggen and Cortney Weggen, and sophomore Josie Roth, for 44th, 45th and 46th, respectively, in times of 23:47.4, 23:52.5 and 23:52.9.

Junior Mia Weggen came next, for 64th (25:18.4), while junior Adrianna Goodman was 71st (26:12.9) and sophomore Lexi Bremness ended in 76th (26:34.1).

“Boys and girls ran extremely well, against excellent competition,” said coach Tom Weiss.

Coming in at 28th on the boys side, was sophomore Saibyn Will (19:14.6), with freshman Jon Phelps in 47th (19:54.5). Junior Ewan Weir followed that with 57th place (20:25.2) and sophomore Zach Kroeplin was 62nd (20:28.6).

Senior Eli Burich finished for Cadott in 79th (21:35.5), while freshman Kaden Roen was 83rd (21:44.5), sophomore Gryphen Lindeman ended in 86th (21:50.4) and senior Sage Handrick was just a few steps behind for 88th (22:01.2).

Rounding out the scoring, were freshman Klay Handrick in 106th (23:01.7) and senior Braden Denzine in 114th (23:53.8).

“Very proud of the freshman boys with their times,” said Weiss.
