Bats are heating up for Sox

The weather may have been a little chilly, for a baseball double header on the Cadott Red Sox field, but the offense was on fire.
June 15 vs. Augusta (W 10-0)
Hosting the Augusta Athletics in game one of the home stand, the Red Sox continued their winning ways in Chippewa River Baseball League (CRBL) competition.
Cadott got on the board in the first inning, with a run, then knocked in three more in the second and four in the third inning, with two more runs added in the fourth inning, all while holding Augusta scoreless, to take the 10-0 victory.
Gio Basile went four innings for the win, with just 2 hits against him, while striking out 6, giving him a 3-0 record this season. Ryan Zimmerman finished out the game, allowing a single hit in one inning.
Jack Kein and Jonah Hanson each came up with 2 hits for the Sox, while Luke Erickson, Cole Bakkam, Jack Redwine and Chad Kron all had a hit. Sam Feck also had a hit, which resulted in his first career homerun.
June 15 vs. Augusta (W 19-3)
In game two of the doubleheader, offense continued to go the way of Cadott.
“Offense was hot, collecting 18 hits, in five innings,” said manager Rick Danielson.
Augusta struck first, with two runs in the first inning, but the Sox answered back, with five runs, then another 12 in the second inning. The Athletics couldn’t come back from the onslaught and Cadott claimed the win, 19-3.
That makes them undefeated in CRBL action, at 9-0, the best record in the league.
Zack Thiesse was on the mound for the Sox, going three innings and giving up 5 hits and 3 runs. Jack Gabler then came in, in relief, allowing 2 hits in his two innings of work, to earn his first career win.
Kein and Erickson each had 4 hits for the Sox, with Hanson, Bakkum, Feck and Logan Burzynski adding 2 hits each, with Basile and Kron each chipping in with a hit.
“Offensively, the guys came out swinging the bats,” said Danielson.
