In their final regular season game of the year, the Cadott football team was ready to play Oct. 12, at Colfax. Despite the game being changed to a day earlier, because of inclement weather, the Hornets had no problem whatsoever in claiming the victory over their opponents on the road.

None more so, than senior Easton Goodman, who went into the game needing around 30 yards to notch 1,000 in his high school career. He not only got the 30, but added 300 more to that number and scored two touchdowns.

Goodman was well aware he was close to the milestone mark, but even when he reached that, it was all about what was going on in the field.

“I just kept going with the game,” said Goodman.

Considering he ended with about 600 yards last year, Goodman really stepped it up in this, his last year. Although he played about the same amount of time, Goodman admits he had more carries this season.

“I tried to look more down the field…look for holds more,” he said.

On the sidelines, the coaches helped Goodman a lot in practice, while his teammates pushed him to reach what they knew he could. Now that his high career is at an end, Goodman isn’t sure what the future holds for him, but doesn’t rule out playing college ball.

“I don’t know yet,” said Goodman. “That could maybe be something I’d like to do.”
