Greenwood, Granton teams also compete in 1st meet of season

The Loyal girls track and field team had a strong showing at their first competition of the season, taking first place as a team at the Neillsville Indoor Invitational on March 17. The Greyhound girls had numerous athletes place in the top eight for their event to earn points for the team, securing the team’s first win of the season.

The Loyal girls had two individuals and two relay teams take first place finishes at Neillsville. In the pole vault, Olivia Nikolai vaulted to a height of 7’6” to win that event and Alyssia Zvolena took first in the high jump by jumping to a height of 5’1”.

In relays, the four-lap relay team ran for a combined time of 1:10.62 and the two-lap, two-lap, three-lap, threelap medley team completed their course in 3:38.15, with both teams taking first place. The Greyhound girls also had three other teams compete in relays. Taking second was the Greyhounds’ other team in the 2-2-3-3-medley relay, which finished in 3:53.59. Two teams competed for Loyal in the 1-1-2-3-medley relay, with the first team taking fifth with a time of 2:28.61 and the second team finishing in eighth place with a time of 2:42.18.

Other individual results for the Loyal girls are as follows: Hannah Smith, second, shot put, 29’3”; Addysen Wolf, second, high jump, 4’10”, third, 45m dash, 6.49; Aubre Robida, second, two-lap dash, 39.75, seventh, 45m dash, 6.59; Autumn Zvolena, third, high jump, 4’8”, third, four-lap dash, 1:36.30; Summer Smith, third, 1600m run, 6:52.62, fifth, triple jump, 28’3”; Molly Zvolena, third, triple jump, 29’3”, fifth, long jump, 14’4”; Hannah Strey, fourth, 800m run, 4:09.68; Hope Peroshek, 5th, 45m dash, 6.51; Olivia Nikolai, sixth, 45m hurdles, 9.37; Leah Scherer, eighth, 45m dash, 6.79.

The Loyal boys track and field team also competed at Neillsville, taking fourth place as a team. Parker Smith was the only individual to take first place, earning his win in the four-lap dash, which he completed in 1:16.24. The 2-2-3-3-medley relay team ran a 2:57.62 to take first place, the only male Greyhound team to do so. Other relays ran by the Loyal boys were the four-lap relay, completed in 1:12.34 for sixth place, and the co-ed eight-lap relay, completed with help from the Loyal girls team. That team took seventh place, finishing in 2:49.43.

Other individual results for the Loyal boys are as follows: Roby Beranek, second, shot put, 41’3.5”; Bryce Deegan, second, two-lap dash, 34.09, eighth, long jump, 16’7.75”; Connor Genteman, second, 800m run, 2:20.19, third, 1600m run, 5:05.75; Rory Hanson, third, four-lap dash, 1:23.31, fourth, two-lap dash, 35.09; Sully Hanson, fifth, shot put, 36’3.5”; Preston Farmer, sixth, 45m dash, 6.14, eighth, shot put, 34’5”; Parker Smith, seventh, high jump, 5’2”.

Greenwood track and field results The Greenwood track and field team also participated at the Neillville invite. The team had four relay teams place at the invite. Taking sixth place were three of the teams: the boys 1-1-2-3-medley relay team, which ran a 2:22.63; the boys 2-2-3-3-medley relay team, which finished

in 3:13.59; and the co-ed eight-lap relay team, which completed the course in 2:35.12. The girls 1-1-2-3-medley team placed seventh, running a 2:41.18.

Individual results for the Greenwood boys and girls are as follows: Rogan Travis, first, shot put, 42’3.5”; Christian Thomas, second, four-lap dash, 1:22.18, fourth, 45m hurdles, 8.14, seventh, long jump, 16’8”; Sarah Reiff, second, four-lap dash, 1:35.8, fourth, 45m dash, 6.50; Katlund Etlicher, fifth, 1600m run, 8:08.6; Lainy Trampush, eighth, triple jump, 24’1”; Carson Ludwig, eighth, 800m run, 2:54.41.

Granton Track and Field results The Granton track and field team also competed March 17. The team had one relay team compete and finish. The girls 1-1-2-3-medley relay team completed the race in 2:27.47 to take fourth place overall.

Individual results for the Granton girls and boys are as follows: Lizzy Reinart, fourth, high jump, 4’4”; Faustina Thomas, fourth, triple jump, 28’9”; Anna Kayhart, fourth, 45m hurdles, 8.93, sixth, triple jump, 26’.25”; Koltin Luchterhand, sixth, four-lap dash, 1:31.11; Alex Gardner, sixth, 45m dash, 6.14; Abby Schoessow, sixth, 1600m run, 9:09.06; Jordan Berg, eighth, long jump, 12’7.25”; Alexis Pongratz, eighth, high jump, 3’10”.

In the women’s events, Loyal earned 130 points to take first place. They placed ahead of Bloomer (100.5), Owen-Withee (70), Gilman (66.5), Neillsville (59.5), Eau Claire Regis (44), Granton, which placed seventh as a team with 27.5 points, and Greenwood, which finished eighth with 22 points.

In the men’s events, Loyal took fourth place with 74.5 points, finishing ahead of Eau Claire Regis (51), Greenwood, which placed sixth as a team with 32 points, Gilman (31), and Granton, which took eighth with 5.5 points. Taking the top placings were Owen-Withee (102), Neillsville (111) and Bloomer, which placed first with 115 points.
