Norma Gerrits


Norma Gerrits, 96, passed away, Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at Mayo Health Systems in Eau Claire.
Norma was born Feb. 1, 1929, the daughter of Margaret (Geist) and Leroy Gilles, in Boyd.
She graduated from Boyd High School in 1947.
Norma was united in marriage to Raymond “Ray” Gerrits, Sept. 30, 1947; they were married for 57 years.
She moved to Cadott, in 1966, where Ray had a business.
Norma enjoyed bowling, cards, traveling with family and friends, camping, working at Country and Rock fests, with her sister-in-law, Shirley Gilles, and taking art and cooking classes, and was an avid walker. She was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Circle.
Norma was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her children – Dean (Nancy) Gerrits, Chippewa Falls, Tim (Marilyn) Gerrits, Golden Valley, Minn., and Vicki Gerrits, Eagan, Minn.; grandchildren – Mike, Leslie, Ben, Jon Erin and Nancy’s sons – Kevin and Brad Bruhn; great-grandchildren – Kylie, Kerena, Jaron, Kayli, Owen, Edward, Laurel and Norah; greatgreat- grandchildren – Zelda, Thorin and Valerie; siblings – Carry Backhaus, Dorine Roberts, Don Gilles, Jerry (Kathy) Gilles, Dick (Carol) Gilles, Denny (Marleen) Gilles and Sharon (Joe) Bormet; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Raymond; son – Randy; and sisters – Ruth (Hofkes) Falter, Joyce Grosklaus and Eileen Moore.
A mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 24, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cadott, with Father William Felix officiating. Visitation is from 9-11 a.m., at the church.
Burial is at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, at a later date.
Leiser Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Cadott, is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff, at Mayo Health Systems ICU and Wishart 2 in Eau Claire, for their thoughtful care. They also want to especially thank Pam Danielson, who has been a source of joy and companionship to our mom, for almost 10 years.
