Darryle Wayne Matott
Darryle Wayne Matott, 89, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, with family by his side.
Darryle was born June 30, 1937, to Harold and Leona (Nerdrum) Matott.
He grew up in the Town of Arthur, attended Matott School through eighth grade and graduated from Cadott High School.
At age 13, he played clarinet for a class program, where old Frank Sikora heard him perform. Frank asked him to join his band and this started Darryle’s lifelong career of playing music.
Darryle fell in love with Beatrice Seidlitz and they married in 1957. Together, they raised six children, farmed and played in his band, The Jolly III.
He was a talented musician and delighted thousands of people over the decades. After Beatrice’s passing, in 1988, he continued to play music at various venues, with multiple people, including his good friends, Richard and Elton Olsen.
Darryle farmed his entire life. Together, with his parents and uncles, Malcolm and Donald, they milked Holstein dairy cows and raised Hereford beef cattle. His wife, Beatrice, and children, later joined in the fun! Later in life, he switched to Charolais beef cattle, not retiring until his 80’s!
He is survived by his children – Jesse (Dawn), Jim, Rainy (Tim) Antolak, Sarah (Ron) Peloquin and Maria (Tim) Potaczek; daughter-in-law – Linda Matott; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
