John Hattamer
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of John Hattamer, who passed at the age of 74, at Mayo Hospital, in Eau Claire.
John was born Jan. 31, in 1952, to Mavis and Herbert Hattamer.
He was born and raised in Cadott, and was married to Shirley (Spaeth) Hattamer, in August of 1974. Together, they created a beloved family, raising four children on the dairy farm.
John spent much of his time on the farm; milking cows, working fields and raising pigs. He still always found time for his hobbies, including hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, gardening and riding his Harley.
One of his favorite activities was traveling with family, in the big blue van, exploring local communities, finding new churches and supper clubs to visit.
He is survived by his wife – Shirley Hattamer, Cadott; children – Kristen Walters (Terry), Cadott, Amy Hattamer, Milwaukee, Sara Hughes (Mike), Cadott, and Michael Hattamer (Jessie), New Jersey; grandchildren – Dezi Gindt (Benji), Austin Walters, Madeline Hughes, Estella Hughes, Henry Hughes, Michael Hattamer and Mary-Kate Hattamer; great-grandchild – Matthew Gindt; his sisters – Judy Jackson, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Sue Blanchette, Cadott, and Jane (Dan) Schneider, Cadott; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Mavis and Herb Hattamer; aunt – Marjorie Dodge; uncle – Bob Pevan; brother-in-law – Tom Blanchette; and his in-laws – Anne and Norbert Spaeth.
A Mass of Christian burial is at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott, with Father William Felix officiating. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m to 12:45 p.m., at the church, prior to Mass Following Mass, there is a celebration of life, at The Liner, in Cadott, for friends and family. The family is having a private burial ceremony, at a later date.
