Louis “Louie” E. Zaruba

Louis “Louie” E. Zaruba, 90, Cornell, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Louis was born Feb. 4, 1931, to Louis L. and Gertrude (Lindbergh) Zaruba, in Cornell, where he lived in the Cornell area his entire life.

He worked at the Cornell Paper Mill for 45 years.

Louie was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was always patient, kind and cheerful, and found happiness in even the smallest things in everyday life.

Louie liked keeping busy. He enjoyed hunting, camping (in earlier years), gardening, working outside, reading, listening to the news on the radio and most of, all spending time with his family.

His grandchildren were the apples of his eye and they loved the wonderful family time they spent with him.

He is survived by his wife – Donna (Knox) Zaruba; daughter and son-in-law – Vicki and Dennis Sigl; and grandchildren – Isabella and Matthew Sigl.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers – Clyde and Victor; and his sister – Edna.

Private family services were held with interment in the Cornell Cemetery.

Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, is assisting the family.
