Frank Rivas, 103, Menomonie, formerly of Cornell, passed away, Saturday, April 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Frank was born Nov. 2, 1922, in San Francisco, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Navy, during World War II, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Frank also served in the Korean Conflict.

Frank was a proud American and very proud of his time in the Navy.

He married Grace Mary (Flood), Dec. 25, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huron. They were married for 42 years.

Frank worked at the paper mill in Cornell, until he retired.

He is survived by his children – Frank (Jan) Rivas, Norfolk, Va., Penny (Tom) Schwab, Chetek, Tim (Suzanne) Rivas, Roanoke, Ind., and Michael Rivas, Knapp; daughter- in-law – Florina Rivas, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife – Grace; daughter – Sue Ann; and son – Joseph.

A Mass is at 11 a.m., Monday, May 4, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell, with Father Eric Linzmaier officiating. Visitation is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The family is praying the rosary, starting at 9 a.m., for anyone who would like to join.

Following the Mass, Frank receives his military honors at the Cornell Cemetery, during the graveside service. Lunch is served when the family arrives back at the church.
