Roger W. Johnson, 72, Gilman, passed away, Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at Aspirus Hospital in Medford. Roger was born July 14, 1948, in Owatonna, Minn., to the late Woodrow and Veola (Jensen) Johnson. He grew up in Clarks Grove, Minn., and in 1958, his family moved to a farm in the Town of Ford. Roger attended Gilman High School. Roger married Sandra Jones Aug. 21, 1971. He worked at Cornell Corporation for a time, then started to farm with his father. He also drove milk truck for Brian Drangle. After he stopped farming, he started at Jeld-Wen, where he retired after 26 years there. Roger had a passion for hunting with his brothers and enjoyed his grandson’s baseball games, hunting, being outside, gardening, time with family and friends, enjoyed camping with the kids when they were younger and always enjoyed the grandkids. He is survived by his wife – Sandra, Gilman; three sons – Greg (Charlene) Johnson, Lublin, Gary (Brandi) Johnson, Eau Claire, and Matt Johnson, Gilman; two grandchildren – Makayla and Isaac; and two brothers – Paul (Bonnie) Johnson, Gilman, and Don (Alta) Johnson, Gilman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers – Robert and Lowell. Services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gilman, with the Rev. Gary Paul officiating. Burial followed in the Meadowbrook Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, at Gilman Funeral Home and again Monday, one hour prior, at the church.
