Robert “Bob” Allen Queen
Robert “Bob” Allen Queen, 71, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, in Cornell.
Bob was born Oct. 24, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., to Donald and Jean (Noble) Queen.
He attended schools in northern Illinois and Kenosha, before graduating from Tremper High School in 1966. He attended college, before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1969, where he proudly served his country, while stationed in Virginia, Japan and Turkey.
Bob married the love of his life, Linda K. Allard, Dec. 27, 1969, at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church. Together, they raised three beautiful daughters.
After he was honorably discharged from the Army, Bob worked at AMC, before joining the Kenosha Police Department (KPD) in 1978. During his career with the KPD, Bob worked as a police officer, accident investigator and detective, before retiring in 2003.
Outside of work, Bob was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and canoe trips to the Boundary Waters.
Bob was known as a practical joker – much to the dismay of his closest friends and family. Bob and Linda moved to Cornell, in 2006, where they became active in Faith Baptist Church, TOPS and Camaraderie Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years – Linda; his children – Donna (Scott) Christenson, Conover, Amy (Joe) Davis, New Berlin, and Dawn (Jeremy) Bronk, Kenosha; his spoiled grandchildren – Joshua, Andrew, Madelyn, Joey, Xander and Maverick; siblings – Richard (Linda), Tennessee, Roger (Bev), Madison, Karen, Florida, and Susan, Key West, Fla.; stepmother – Earlene Queen, Bandon, Ore.; many nieces and nephews; in-laws and church family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
A public visitation will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Cornell, Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. A private family funeral service will be held.
Interment will be in the Cornell Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Cornell American Legion.
Borton-Leiser Funeral home in Cornell, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial to the Cornell-Lake Holcombe Camaraderie Club, or Women and Children’s Horizons in Kenosha.
