Nick Matkovich

Nick L. Matkovich, 82, Owen, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen.

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Meadowview Country Club in Owen from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.

Nick was born on March 18, 1941, the son of Louie and Beulah (Dill) Matkovich in Willard. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1959, and was united in marriage to Bonnie Anderson in 1966.

Nick began his career in the workforce at a young age, working for Laabs Cheese Factory, hauling can milk. He later took on a semi-driving position for Auberg and Hansen, and then he picked up trucks all over the United States for Galvin. Nick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie, as well as a son: Tracy (Rondi) of Holcombe; two grandsons: Dillon of Owen and Dalton of Eau Claire; and many cousins.
