Marilyn J. Bogdonovich, age 97, of Greenwood, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood. Rev. Matthew Szymanski will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Marilyn Joyce Bertz was born on June 29, 1928, in Marshfield, the daughter of Reuben and Cecilia (O’Reilly) Bertz. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at St. Anthony Parochial School, and graduated from Loyal High School in 1946. Marilyn was united in marriage to Edward Mitchell Bogdonovich on May 31, 1949, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. She then attended UW-Stevens Point and graduated with a degree in education in 1954. Marilyn taught fifth grade in Owen for one year, and then taught the next 30 years at Loyal Elementary School. She finished out her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher at Greenwood Elementary. After retiring, Marilyn volunteered at Learn-A-Lot Preschool in Greenwood.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Society. Marilyn had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, sewing, cooking, and walking.

She will be dearly missed by her son, William (Mabel) of Willard; two stepgrandchildren, Rod (Carolina) Stockebrand of Weston, Fla., and Barbie (Adrian) Dearman of Columbia, Miss.; four step-great-grandchildren: Jaslyn Dearman, Adrian Dearman Jr., and Anita and Elizabeth Stockebrand; two sisters, Colleen Kraeger of Cudahy and Donna Gruber of Madison; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; two children, Blaine Bogdonovich and Mary Lee Bogdonovich; three brothers: William, David, and Robert Bertz; and five sisters: Deanna Will, Rosemary Sanford, Virginia Bushnell, Joann Hayden, and Darlene Ottoway.
