Richard Kloehn


Richard W. Kloehn, age 78, of Marshfield, passed away on November 24, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons while at Stoney River Memory Care, with his wife and son by his side and under the care of Heartland Hospice. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at noon on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at Rembs Celebration Center in Marshfield. Friends and family are welcome to gather from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Richard was born on April 23, 1945, in Marshfield to Victor and Agnes (Theisen) Kloehn and was a 1963 graduate of Colby High School. He married Rita Haas on July 2, 1966, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. Richard began working at Trailblazer in Spencer and farmed with his brother, Dale, for 19 years on the family farm east of Unity. He also worked at Welcome Dairy. After farming, he was employed at Felker Brothers until his retirement. Richard was a hard worker and played hard as well. For 14 years, he and Rita vacationed in Florida. They’ve traveled all over the United States with a camper and motorcycle and with their friends. Many Sundays were spent on the Eau Pleine Flowage boating and teaching family and friends to water-ski. Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends, having parties, playing cards and campfires. He loved to talk and gave a lot of hugs and smiles. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rita, and son, Brad, both of Marshfield. He is also survived by his brother, Melvin (June) Kloehn of Florida; sister, Karleen (Marvin) Geiger of Weston; and grandchildren: Tony Martin of Missouri, Tyler Martin of Las Vegas, and Lindsey & James Johnson of Kentucky, along with four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law: Joanne Haas of Stevens Point, Joyce (Reggie) Morgison of Virginia, Judy (Dennis) Blazel of Marshall and Karen (Rick) Block of Medford; brothers-in-law: Robert (Marion) Haas of Unity and Leonard (Mary) Haas of Colby; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Laura Lee, and her husband, Darrell Johnson; a brother, Dale (Bubbles) Kloehn and two brothers in infancy; parents-in-law, Art & Izzy Haas; brother-in-law, Art Haas Jr.; niece, Michelle Block and nephew, Joshua Block. Diane Herington

Diane Herington


Diane L. Herington, age 74, of Owen, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving husband, Larry. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at the Owen-Withee High School Gym with Rev. Phil Beukema presiding. Family and friends are welcome from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Withee and from noon until the time of service Sunday at the school. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements. Diane was born on September 17, 1949, the daughter of Ralph and Elsie (Mueller) Woik in Marshfield. She attended Beehive Country School and graduated from Owen-Withee High School where she met the love of her life. On January 25, 1969, Diane was united in marriage to Larry Herington in Colby. Following marriage, Diane was a housewife and kept books alongside Larry at Tri-County Equipment. After several years, she became an assistant at Thorp Dental and later worked as a realtor for Woodland Realty. Diane was active in her church and within the community, including the Lions Club, Legion and the Owen-Withee Elementary School. She enjoyed playing golf and gardening, viewing and partaking in the theater, and was an avid reader. The “Wordle Queen” was always up for a game of Skip-Bo or a trip to the mall. She loved attending her grandchildren’s functions, whether it was watching them play on the field/ court or perform on the stage. Diane also loved traveling the world, walking on the beach, collecting shells and cherishing the sunsets. She thoroughly enjoyed her socializing with family and friends, especially “Wine-not-Wednesday”. Most importantly, Diane loved her family and was proud of her daughters. You were sure to be greeted by her with a friendly smile and warm hug. Her seasonally decorated home was always open to family and friends. Diane is survived by her loving husband of almost 55 years, Larry; three daughters: Kari (Mike) Johnson of Fall Creek, Tina Herington of Janesville and Lara (Luke) Johnson of Fall Creek; her seven grandchildren: Brett (Makayla) Johnson, Kendra Johnson, Justine Flink, Logan Flink, Breanne Johnson, Madisen Johnson and Larissa Johnson; three great-grandchildren: Jordie Johnson, Myles Johnson and James Golbach-Flink; her brother, Duane (Betsy) Woik of Portland, Ore.; her sisterin- law, Kris Woik of Colby and her daughters, Elise Woik of Abbotsford and Hanah Woik of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Denis Woik. Arletta Goldamer

Arletta Goldamer


Arletta M. Goldamer, age 99, of Abbotsford, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Colby Senior Care under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. Reverend Don Bruce will preside. Family and friends are welcome at 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements. Arletta was born on April 23, 1924, the daughter of Albert and Amanda (Laack) Lindau in the Town of Mayville. On June 6, 1945, Arletta was united marriage to Robert Goldamer at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Dorchester. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2019. Arletta taught in one room schools, then continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, while working and raising her family. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 1963. Arletta taught various grades in Abbotsford, mainly 5th grade. She was an inspiration to her students refusing to give up on them, no matter the struggle and continuing those relationships far beyond her teaching career. Arletta’s passion in life was being a teacher, she loved all of her students and cherished all of the memories she had during those forty years. She retired in May 1984. Arletta lived a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother and a friend. She always carried herself with dignity, strength and was full of love. She was strong willed and stubborn at times, but also had an enormous heart, quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Arlie was a force of life who had a passion for learning with a long and meaningful career as an educator. She had an amazing memory, especially remembering names of anyone who crossed her path and had a gift to tell entertaining stories. Arlie had a strong faith in God and was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford, member of the Wisconsin Retired Educator’s Association and a member of the Alpha Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for Women Educators. Arlie and Bob loved dancing and going to polka dances in the area. Arletta is survived by her two sons: John of Abbotsford and Steve of Minneapolis; five grandchildren: Jeff (Cindy) Bogaard, Julie (Joe) Dietlin, Dana (Jeff) Swanson, Erin (Dan) Davidson and Justin Goldamer; seven great-grandchildren: Allie Case, Emily Bogaard, Jack, Tyler and Lucy Dietlin, Fitzgerald and Minnie Swanson. She is further survived by many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Bogaard; siblings: Lucille, Norman, Eugene, twins Melvin and Elvin and Vernetta and three sisters-in-law: Ardyce Cornelius, Audrey Christensen and Elaine Speck. Sara Strunk

Sara Strunk


Sara Marie (Stroetz) Strunk was born to Robert Stroetz and Esther Borchardt in Marshfield on December 16, 1963. She graduated from Colby High School in 1982. She lost both parents to cancer at age 18 and then sought refuge with relatives in the Elroy, Wisconsin, area. She met and married her first husband while there. Their first child, Robert, died at birth. Two more children, Charles and Casandra came from that union. She followed her first husband on his military career. While stationed in Germany, she met a guy from Wisconsin in a beer tent. The two of them remained friends for years. After the war, Desert Storm, her first marriage dissolved and she moved back to Wisconsin with her two children. After settling in she looked up her old Wisconsin friend. She jumped in the car and drove three hours to surprise him while he was bowling. They fell in love and were married on June 22, 1996. Her new husband also fell in love with her two children. Together they raised them up as best they could. Camping, fishing, goofy trips and of course, garage sales, all good stuff. Then to their surprise along came another child, Bobbi Jo, what a blessing. Along the way she worked as a restaurant manager, cook, school aid, factory worker and mother. Her faith in God kept her centered. Later in life she was introduced to the world of vintage clothing. She was known as Ginger DeVille to a lot of wonderful people she loved dearly. In the fall of 2022 cancer entered her life. She put up a hell of a fight but eventually lost her battle, surrounded by family, on November 28, 2023. Tears down here but not up there. I will miss you my love. Smooch Sara is survived by her husband, Robert, as well as her children: Charles (Alex) Madden, Stratford, Casandra Madden, Marshfield and Bobbi Jo Strunk, Edgar; and two grandchildren: Michael and Archer Madden. She is also survived by her brothers: Eugene Stroetz, Unity and Randy Stroetz, Spencer; and a sister, Lori (Kris) Weber, Elroy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Robert Allen Madden and her sister-in-law, Darlene Stroetz. A Celebration of Life will be held December 16, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Dorchester Memorial Hall. Reverend Teri Hanson will preside. Linda Bruesewitz

Linda Bruesewitz


Linda Lou Bruesewitz, age 79, joined her family and God on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the Waterford at Colby under hospice care with her family at her side. Linda was born on September 18, 1944, the daughter of Harry and Margaret Zrutskie in Colby. She married Dennis Bruesewitz on January 9, 1963, and together they raised four children: Deb (Tom) Paul, Mike (Julie) Bruesewitz, Tim Bruesewitz and Lisa (Tom) Wussow. She spent most of her life farming and later in life spent 31 years at Figis becoming a lead. She enjoyed and loved so many of her co-workers, becoming best friends with many. She had a very special place in her heart for Diane & Vicki. Linda is survived by her children, her sons-inlaws and daughter-in–law; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Dawn (Bud) Littleton and Terry (Jude) Zrutskie. Joining her will be her husband, Dennis, and her son, Tim, as well as her parents, Harry and Margaret Zrutskie and a brother, Dusty; her in–laws, Delmar & Lila Bruesewitz, and numerous other loved ones. Thank you to Kristi, Mary and staff of hospice for assisting in mom’s comfort and care.
