Richard Kloehn

Richard Kloehn

Richard W. Kloehn, age 78, of Marshfield, passed away on November 24, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons while at Stoney River Memory Care, with his wife and son by his side and under the care of Heartland Hospice. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at noon on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at Rembs Celebration Center in Marshfield. Friends and family are welcome to gather from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Richard was born on April 23, 1945, in Marshfield to Victor and Agnes (Theisen) Kloehn and was a 1963 graduate of Colby High School. He married Rita Haas on July 2, 1966, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. Richard began working at Trailblazer in Spencer and farmed with his brother, Dale, for 19 years on the family farm east of Unity. He also worked at Welcome Dairy. After farming, he was employed at Felker Brothers until his retirement. Richard was a hard worker and played hard as well. For 14 years, he and Rita vacationed in Florida. They’ve traveled all over the United States with a camper and motorcycle and with their friends. Many Sundays were spent on the Eau Pleine Flowage boating and teaching family and friends to water-ski. Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends, having parties, playing cards and campfires. He loved to talk and gave a lot of hugs and smiles. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rita, and son, Brad, both of Marshfield. He is also survived by his brother, Melvin (June) Kloehn of Florida; sister, Karleen (Marvin) Geiger of Weston; and grandchildren: Tony Martin of Missouri, Tyler Martin of Las Vegas, and Lindsey & James Johnson of Kentucky, along with four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law: Joanne Haas of Stevens Point, Joyce (Reggie) Morgison of Virginia, Judy (Dennis) Blazel of Marshall and Karen (Rick) Block of Medford; brothers-in-law: Robert (Marion) Haas of Unity and Leonard (Mary) Haas of Colby; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Laura Lee, and her husband, Darrell Johnson; a brother, Dale (Bubbles) Kloehn and two brothers in infancy; parents-in-law, Art & Izzy Haas; brother-in-law, Art Haas Jr.; niece, Michelle Block and nephew, Joshua Block. A very special thank you to Stoney River Memory Care and Wells Nature View. Thank you to Rembs Funeral Home. Family requests no flowers or plants.
