Chase Gutenberger

Chase Michael James Gutenberger, age 30, of Colby, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

A memorial gathering to share memories of Chase was held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford.

Chase was born on May 6, 1995, the son of Ronald Gutenberger and Stacy Binning in Marshfield. He graduated from Colby High School in 2013. Chase worked at Northwest Hardwoods in Dorchester for 12-1/2 years.

Chase enjoyed woodworking, loved to fish, attended Rock Fest every year and helping his family on the farm. He also loved his cat, Chester.

Chase is survived by his father, Ronald Gutenberger; his mother, Stacy (Luke) Mercier; his two sisters: Hailey Gutenberger (Joe Ludwigson) and Maggie Gutenberger (Tegan Reyes); his maternal grandmother, Sheryl (Tim) Worzella; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Rebecca Gutenberger; paternal grandparents, James and Grace Gutenberger and maternal grandfather, Michael Binning.
