County board elects new chair, committees

The Clark County Board of Supervisors met on April 16 to swear in new board members who were elected to their seats during the April 2 election and to choose new officers and committee members.

In the board’s first vote, Tom Wilcox was elected to the position of county board chairperson, replacing Wayne Hendrickson who concluded his 47-year tenure on the county board at the meeting. He was voted in as chairperson over Joe Waichulis Jr. 16 to 11. For the position of county board vice chair, Chuck Rueth was voted in over Ken Gerhardt in a 15 to 12 vote.

The board also elected new members to its various committees after several rounds of voting. Voted to the agriculture extension committee were Randy Sebesta, Roy Tyznik, Fritz Garbisch, Fred Schindler and Ray Mulderink. Voted onto the finance committee were Ken Gerhardt, Butch Trunkel, Duane Boon and Chuck Rueth. Voted onto the highway committee were Duane Boon, Jeff Kolzow, Riley Ashbeck, Randy Sebesta and Joe Walchulis Jr. Voted to the social services committee were Arlene Kodl, Chuck Rueth, Scott Johnson, Brandon Hasz and Larry Klabon.
