Spencer FD assists with blaze in city of Colby

At 6:28 p.m. on Friday, April 26, Central Fire and EMS was dispatched for a garage on fire in the city of Colby. Upon arrival of Central Fire, the garage was found to be fully engulfed, with heavy smoke and flames spreading to the house, causing the house to become fully engulfed.

“Due to weather conditions, this was a working fire for several hours. Fire was contained to the structure, but was considered a total loss,” an announcement on the Central Fire and EMS District’s Facebook page stated.

One family was displaced due to the fire, but no injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

The Spencer Fire Department provided additional resources, along with the Owen-Withee-Curtiss Fire, Colby-Abbotsford Police Department and the American Red Cross. Central Fire and EMS also extended its appreciation to Kwik Trip for supplying food and coffee to the first responders.
