Cadott track athletes were among the elite at a special meet at UW-Stout, March 28, where select athletes qualified at a previous meet to take part in the event.

“We had another very good meet,” said coach Pat Rothbauer.

Taking the top honors of the day, was sophomore Iszy Sonnentag, who placed first in the 400-meter dash, in a time of 1:00.65, as well as the 55-meter hurdles (8.94) and fourth in the long jump (15-08). Junior Adrianna Goodman also placed high among the interdivisonal athletes, claiming third in the long jump (15-09.5) and fourth in the triple jump (32-07.75).

Junior Cortney Weggen came next, with ninth place in the 3,200-meter run (13:37.44), followed by senior Emma Kowalczyk, who was 10th in the triple jump (3101). Sophomore Haley Mathison followed that with 12th in the high jump (4-03) and 17th in the shot put (2909.75).

Jaycee Stephens, senior, placed 18th in the 800-meter run (2:42.87) and 26th in long jump (13-04), while sophomore Dani Sikora came in 20th in high jump (4-00) and junior Lyla Weggen ended in 24th in the 1,600-meter run (6:25.28). Freshman Ali Blum took 28th in the shot put (27-00).

Placing fourth in the 4x400-meter, was the team of Stephens, sophomore Taylor Hager, sophomore Lilly Spaeth, Sonnentag, Kowalczyk and Goodman.

For the boys, freshman Beau Steinke earned the ninth place spot in the 3,200 run (10:59.16) and 23rd in the 1,600 run (5:05.24). Freshman Kaden Roen placed 18th in the 400 dash (55.72), while sophomore Saibyn Will was 21st in the 1,600 run (5:00.68) and senior Cole Malecki ended 31st in the shot put (34-03).

Sophomore Zach Kroeplin capped his day with a 36th place finish in the 800 run (2:33.17) and junior Tucker Salzgeber was 39th in shot put (31-00.5).

In the 4x400 relay, the boys team of Will, sophomore Aythen Wundrow, freshman Garrett Engel, Roen, senior Wyatt Engel and senior Elijah Burich, placed 15th.

“We had a great group of athletes representing Cadott at this meet,” said Rothbauer.
