Page Forward holds quarterly meeting

The Page Forward Literacy Volunteers of Clark County (“Page Forward”) held their quarterly meeting Sept. 5 at the Withee library. In addition to agenda items, guest speakers were Ana Macias and Cari Rios.
Page Forward is a nonprofit organization established in 1994 and continues to offer free literacy tutoring. September is Literacy Month.
Page Forward currently has had as many as 20 volunteers. In 2024, they served 57 students across Clark County. Many of their students are English language learners working in Clark County, adult literacy learners whose native language is English, refugees, newcomers to the community, and learners in the Clark County Jail. Services are provided in public libraries, churches, schools, homes, the Clark County Jail, and on Zoom.
Funding comes through grants that helps pay for student workbooks, textbooks, teacher manuals, calculators, laptops, printers, software, and office supplies.
Page Forward offers General Education Development (GED), High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), English language learning (ELL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), and basic computer skills classes.
