LaVern M. (Kunz) Arneson
LaVern M. (Kunz) Arneson, 94, formerly of Cadott, passed away peacefully, May 15, 2026, at Lake Hallie Memory Care in Chippewa Falls.
LaVern was born Aug. 13, 1931, to Arthur and Eva (Nunke) Kunz.
She married the love of her life, Theodore “Ted” Arneson, July 25, 1951, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott.
They lived on the family farm and moved to the Village of Cadott, in 1964. Together, LaVern and Ted owned and operated Ted’s Coffee Cup, before purchasing the Trustworthy Hardware Store in Cadott, and later, another hardware store, in Boyd.
LaVern also enjoyed working at the Rutledge Home, where she formed many meaningful relationships.
They also enjoyed traveling, visiting families and friends, along the way.
LaVern enjoyed crocheting, flowers, her lemon tree plants and mixed couples bowling.
She is survived and cherished by her family – Kenneth Arneson, Ronald (Barb) Arneson, Bonita (Richard “Dick”) Mickelson, Debbie (Duane “Skip”) Greene and Gordon (Terri) Arneson; grandchildren – Eric (Kim) Mickelson, Tim (Hilary) Mickelson, Jeremy (Amy) Mickelson, Troy (Lisa) Arneson, Tracy (Seon) Schnell, Heather (Charlie) Richards, Dan (Laura) Greene, Heather (Jonathan) Van de Hei and Alex (McKenzie Felix) Arneson; 11 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband – Ted Arneson, Aug. 16, 2025; a son and daughter in infancy; a sister – Yvonne Kunz; a brother – Robert (Lucille) Kunz; grandson – Kenneth Arneson Jr.; granddaughter-in-law – Billie Jo Mickelson; great-grandson – Andruw Mickelson; and nephews – Richard Kunz and Joseph Kunz.
A big thank you, to St. Croix Hospice, Lake Hallie Memory Care staff, for the love and care of LaVern.
A celebration of life is Saturday, July 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Sigel Town Hall in Cadott. A private family inurnment is in the Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott, at a later date.
Leiser Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Cadott, is assisting the family.
