Gerald “Jerry” Swim

Gerald “Jerry” Swim, 82, Cadott, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home, with his wife by his side.

Jerry was born Sept. 17, 1941, to Elester “Eugene” Swim Sr. and Marie (Nesvacil) Swim, of Cadott.

He attended Chap Creek Country School and Cadott High School.

Jerry worked for Zimmerman Brothers Logging, Stanley Corporation and Boyd Cenex, installing and servicing furnaces, and pipeline milkers.

He married Judith Gingras, March 3, 1962, and lived in the Cadott area.

Jerry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, fourwheeling, telling jokes, and playing cards with family and friends. Jerry loved his family in his own way and was proud to be a “Grandpa.”

He is survived by his wife – Judith; son – Jeff (Renee) Swim; daughters – Julie (Jerry) Morgan; Teri (Rod) Swan and Traci (Scott) Bremness; grandchildren – Shawna (Matt) Gwiazda, Jamie (Jill) Lorenz, Nicholas (Mallory) Lorenz, Jacob Morgan, Alex and Lexie Swim, and Jade Swim, Jacob and Jordan Klages; great-grandchildren – Mariah, Ella and Kolbin Gwiazda, and Gavin and Corbin Lorenz; brothers – Eugene (Shirley) Swim Jr., Justin Swim and Mike (Ginger) Swim; sisters – Betty Hladilek, Patricia (Mike) Starck and Earlene (Dennis) Bergman; and many cousins; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Elester “Eugene” Sr. and Marie Swim; brother – Robert Swim; son – John Swim; maternal and paternal grandparents; mother and father-in-law – Albert and Josephine Gingras; and brother-in-law – Charles Hladilek.

A celebration of life will be held at Halfway Hall in Cadott, Friday, July 26, from 5-8 p.m.
