Robert “Bob” J. King, 75, Chippewa Falls, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Robert was born Aug. 19, 1948, in the Town of Estella, Chippewa County, to Walter and Marion (Newbury) King.

He was raised in Holcombe, and attended Lake Holcombe Schools.

After high school, he served in the U.S. Army, from May 2, 1968, until his honorable discharge, May 1, 1970.

Bob was a handyman and worked odd jobs over the years. He was employed by Walter Brothers Lumber Manufacturing in Holcombe, for over 10 years, until he retired in 1998.

He is survived by his brothers – Rodger, Walter Jr., and Jeffrey King; sisters – Debra Watson, Ann Finch, Rita King, Kathy Davis and Susan King; and many nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brothers – Mike and Bruce; brother – Patrick; and sisters – Linda Parkhurst and Wanda Olson.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls. A prayer service will follow at 1 p.m., at the funeral home.

Interment will be held Friday, April 12, at 1 p.m., at the Cleveland Cemetery in Chippewa County, with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
