Garold “Gary” Kron Garold “Gary” Kron

Garold “Gary” Kron, 63, Holcombe, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, after a short, but strong, battle with cancer.

Gary was raised and lived in Holcombe, “God’s Country,” his entire life. He was born Jan. 2, 1961, the son of Louise (Pake) and Raymond Kron, in Ladysmith.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, gramps/ grandpa and friend to many. Gary touched the lives of so many, with his charm and wit.

Gary attended Holcombe School. In August of 1978, he married Patty Lee. They were blessed with four daughters. Gary and Patty later divorced.

He then met his “sweetheart,” Barb, and welcomed three stepsons into the family. Barb and Gary were married in September of 2004, and had 24 beautiful years together, growing the family, with many grandchildren.

Gary worked in the trucking industry for most his life, with dedication and loyalty at River Country Co-op.

He always had a giant smile that he greeted people with and an infectious laugh to go along with that smile. Gary just loved spending time with his family and friends.

Gary also liked listening to music, deer hunting with the crew (he would rather see his grandchildren get the deer than himself), pontooning on Lake Holcombe and on the Hayward flowage, finding a good deal with antiques, vacations, especially if it meant walking on a sandy beach, a good game of cribbage, playing cards and tinkering around the yard.

He also loved a campfire, and bringing smiles and laughter to those around him.

Gary was always up for watching his grandkids at school volleyball, baseball and football games.

He is survived by his wife – Barb; his daughters – Chandell Kron, Amie (Joe) Wincek, Karissa (Richard) Kane and Kellie Kron; sons – Anthony Geiger, Adam (Bobbi Blair) Geiger and Andrew (Maggie) Geiger; his brothers and sisters – Pete (Gayle) Kron, Denny (Diane) Kron, Tom (Roxanne) Kron, Nancy (Bernie) Repka, Tracy (Gary) Kostick, Randy (Sue) Kron and Jeanie (David) Dernovsek; 24 loved grandchildren – Corvin and Camden Booker, Dylan (McKenna), Kirk and Ryne Giencke, Harper Klinger, Jace, Hannah, Olivia and Paizlie Wincek, Abigail, Connor and Stella Kane, Brock and Zoey Weber, Cade Littleton, Ashton Geiger, Dylan, Macie and Noah Geiger, Drew, Boyd, Dax and Anna Geiger; and many other relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother – Louise; father – Raymond Kron; his sister – Janet (Phil) Keiser; and brother – Phillip (Judy) Kron.

Please join our family at Staudacher Field in Holcombe, for a celebration of life that will be held Friday, April 5, from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you could honor Gary’s wish to help others, with a donation that will be made to the kidney cancer foundation in Gary’s honor.
