Donald “Don” “Slim” Loren Ramseier

Donald “Don” Loren Ramseier, also known as “Slim,” 93, Cadott WI., passed away peacefully Friday, March 15, 2024.

Don was born June 25, 1930, to Godfred and Mildred (Thompson) Ramseier.

He was raised in the Township of Sigel.

Don was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cadott.

He worked for his father on the farm, then, Donald married Shirley Kuhnert, Nov. 25, 1961, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cadott. Following marriage, Don and Shirley took over the family farm, and were blessed with three boys – Jeff, Mitch and Scott, who were a great help on the farm.

Don enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, hunting and one his favorites, was spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years – Shirley Ramseier; sons – Jeff (Amy) Ramseier and Mitch (Michelle) Ramseier; grandchildren – Shawna (Matt) Gwiazda, Jesse (Stacy) Ramseier, Parker Ramseier and Wyatt Ramseier; six beautiful great-grandchildren; sisters – Marjorie Berg and Joyce (Dick) Marcott; sister-in-law – Carol Woodford; and many nieces; nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son – Scott Ramseier; parents – Godfred and Mildred Ramseier; brothers – Gerald, at birth, and Ellsworth “Ab” Ramseier; a sister – Arlene (Clarence) Ulrich; and a brother-in-law – Gordy Berg.

Don was a great husband, father, grandpa, brother and all around good gentleman, and will be greatly missed!

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 30, from noon to 2 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Hopkins officiating, at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott.

Inurnment will be in the Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott, followed by a lunch at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cadott.
