Katherine “Kay” Diamond, 92, Cornell, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024.

Kay, as she was known, was born Katherine Sylvia Bonn, June 20, 1931.

She was the third child of Edward and Mildred Bonn. Kay, and her two brothers and two sisters, grew up on the family farm, in the Township of Ruby.

She married the love of her life, Duane Diamond, July 3, 1948. In the years following, they had four children – Lowell (Jim), Sharon, Linda and David. Their entire 65 years of marriage, was spent raising their family, and living and working in Cornell.

Along with working on home projects together, Kay worked at the local grocery store for many years. She also worked at Presto Industries for over seven years.

Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She loved fishing, hunting, camping and berry-picking, with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Kay will always be remembered for her delicious baked goods, her kind and caring manner, and her warm and welcoming smile she gave to all.

She is survived by her four children – Jim (Jo Anne) Diamond, Sharon Cartwright, Linda (Steve) Hatfield and David Diamond; eight grandchildren; and many greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband – Duane; her parents – Edward and Mildred Bonn; brothers – Kenneth Bonn and Ed Bonn Jr.; sisters – June Hagen and Bonita Dixon; and daughter-in-law – Tori Diamond.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 22, at First Presbyterian Church in Cornell. Visitation will begin at noon, and go until the start of the service, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Cornell Cemetery.
