Scott Henry Dayment Sr., 70, passed away unexpectedly, at Cornell Health Services, Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024. Despite his many health battles, his loving heart left a lasting impression on every life he touched.

Scott was born the son of Henry and Geraldine (Studley) Dayment, April 5, 1953, in Chicago, Ill.

For his early years, he lived in Round Lake Park, Ill., where he attended school, graduating in 1971.

He married his first wife, Mary Kathy Knox, and had two children, Lucreta and Scott Jr., but they later divorced. He then found his way to becoming a long-time resident of Cornell, where he married Carrie (McIntyre) Dayment, June 16, 1989, and they had one son together, Patrick.

Scott loved being involved with events and doing community service; during the early 1990s, he was a member of the Jaycees and a local agent for the MDA telethon. He loved music and made many friends, following the local music scene. One of his favorite activities was sharing the gift of Christmas, by dressing up as Santa Claus and visiting many families.

During his later years, Scott was an active participant, who brought much joy to the residents and staff at Cornell Health Services.

He is survived by his three children – Lucreta (Mark) Dyals, St. Mary’s, Ga., Scott (Aimee) Dayment Jr., Kingsland, Ga., and Patrick Dayment, Bloomer; three sisters – Gail Dayment and Patty (Dayment) Soenksen, both of Kansasville; and Angie (Matt) Loomis, Warren, Ill.; a stepson – Michael (Miranda) Hall, Chippewa Falls; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife – Carrie; his parents; and two brothers – James and Wayne Dayment.
