Betty Arispa (Bernier) Huston

Betty Arispa (Bernier) Huston, 95, passed away peacefully at Cornell Health Services, Friday, March 1, 2024.

Betty was born April 6, 1928, to Arispa and Robert Bernier, in Waukegan, Ill.

She married William Huston Jr., Aug. 24, 1946, in Aurora, Ill.

Betty worked at Aurora Pump for 33 years, and retired at age 68.

She loved the outdoors, working with her flowers, spending time with her family and grandkids.

Betty moved back to Cornell, in 2006, and became active in the community. She volunteered at the Cornell preschool for nine years; she was Grandma Betty and loved the kids. Betty was also in the Camaraderie Club.

She is survived by her daughters – Christine Corrigain and Rose (Larry) DeVolve; son – William Huston III, who sadly passed away March 2; sister – Wendy (Joe) Mittermeyer; grandchildren – Jim (Jenny) Darflinger, Christy Huston, Kimberly Huston, Tina Huston, David (Jenny) Huston and Bobby (Sarah) Huston; 13 greatgrandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Arispa and Robert Bernier; her husband – William Huston Jr.; daughter – Pat (Erine) Darflinger; grandson – Curtis Bates Jr.; brothers – Lemoine, Robert and Bud Bernier, and Henry Butch Stassel; and sisters – Gay Lou Haroldson, Kay Roscoe and Jacqueline Sis Brown.

A celebration of life memorial visitation will take place at a later date. When the weather gets warmer, updates will be made to the funeral home website.
