Deanna Mae Bohl Deanna Mae Bohl

Deanna Mae Bohl, 57, Cadott, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at her home, in Cadott.

Deanna battled colon cancer four years ago, and regained health, only to find out a few weeks ago, that cancer had returned. She battled with all that was within her. Deanna was graceful in her decision of going home to rest during the remaining days, as comfortable as possible.

She was born April 5, 1966, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Donald Bohl, Boyd, and Johanna (Caza) Bohl, Jim Falls. Deanna grew up in the Town of Delmar, and attended St. Joseph Grade School and later, graduated from Stanley-Boyd High in 1984.

She worked as a CNA at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley. She also worked at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.

Deanna met Lonny Roth and together, they farmed in Cadott, for 30 years. She was truly his “right-hand Gal and Sweetheart.” Along with her life on the farm, she also enjoyed motorcycle rides, lawn care on the farm, time with grandkids and making sure they had cookies when they came to visit her.

She is survived by her fiancé – Lonny Roth; his children – Lindsey (Jared) Schlesser, and their daughters – Liza, Athena, Clara and Petra Rae; Lucas and his sons – Nash and Lake (friend Jordan, and her daughter, Wren); her sisters – Karen (Wayne) Lato, Thorp, and Christine (Bob) Nelson, Neillsville; two brothers – Daniel Bohl, Thorp; and James (Lana) Bohl, Withee; brother-in-law – Neal Geist, Boyd; her parents – Donald (Marlene) Bohl and Johanna (Caza) Bohl; many nieces and nephews; Lonny’s siblings and their families – Dennis (Debra) Roth, Debra (Joel) Sivula, Duane (Brenda) Roth, Larry (Janet) Roth and Loren (Sara) Roth.

She was preceded in death by her sister – Jeannie, in 2009; her brother – Robert, in 1978; her maternal grandparents – Ed and Hattie Caza; and her paternal grandparents – Gilbert and Mildred Bohl.

Lonny and Deanna would like to thank those who stepped in to help them during this time, along with gratitude to Mayo Hospice Care nurse Linda. There is a song that has special meaning to Lonny at this time, by Collin Raye, If You Get There Before I Do.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Boyd, with Father William Felix officiating. Inurnment will be in the Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott, at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m., Saturday morning, at the church.
