Christine “Chris” Marie Kane
Christine “Chris” Marie Kane, 54, Sheldon, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Marshfield Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Chris was born Dec. 29, 1968, in Chippewa Falls, to Peter and Paulette (Pahl) Breezee.
She grew up in Cornell, and graduated from Cornell High School in 1988.
Chris married Marshall “Sam” Kane, Nov. 13, 1990. Together, they had two sons, Samuel and Jacob. This November, would have been their 33rd wedding anniversary.
Her family meant everything to her, she was a devoted wife and mother to her family. After her boys were in school, she went to work at Rockwell Automation, she worked there for over 18 years, until her passing.
Chris enjoyed gardening, her flowers, cooking, canning, being outdoors, going for rides in the side-by-side, going to the hunting shack, making Christmas wreaths and finding heart rocks. She loved the woodworking her boys would make for her.
Her family was her life. She had a cat named Tigger, who became diabetic and every morning, she would make sure he got his insulin; she loved that cat.
She is survived by her husband – Marshall “Sam” Kane; her two sons – Samuel and Jacob Kane; her brother – Peter Breezee (Kenneth Braunshausen), Eau Claire; her sisters – Wanda (Scott) Winchell, Tomahawk, Shelley Mattson, Bloomer, and Stacie Breezee, Platteville; brothers-in-law – Richard Jr. (Roxanne) Kane, Colorado, James (Ruth) Kane, Sheldon, and Earl Irwin; sisters-inlaw – Kathy (Gary) Mueller, Ojibwa, and Colleen (Rick) Irwin, Jump River; several nieces and nephews; greatnieces and nephews; and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Peter and Paulette Breezee (Crosby); stepdad – Roy Crosby; her mother and father-in- law – Richard Sr. and Colleen Kane; brothers-in-law – Bob Mattson and Thomas Kane, as an infant; and sister-in-law – Sandy Irwin.
A visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 4-8 p.m., at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeremy Allard officiating.
A visitation was also from 10 a.m., until the start of service that day. Interment was at the Cornell Cemetery, following the service.
