Janice Ellen Hinrichs

Janice Ellen Hinrichs, 71, Cornell, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Saturday July 29, 2023, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, in Chetek.

Janice was born Nov. 9, 1951, the daughter of Melvin and Betty (Peterson) Richards.

She was born and raised in Cornell, and graduated from Cornell High School.

Janice married Eugene Geissler in 1972; to this union they had three children. They later divorced. Then, in 1996, she married her current husband, Bill Hinrichs.

She enjoyed her time working in the medical field and volunteering whenever she could. She also enjoyed painting, working in her flower gardens or just having flowers.

Janice loved spending time with her friends, her children and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband – Bill; her three children – David, Lori (Brad) and Tim; and her four grandchildren – Bentley, Calaeb, Gunther (Brooklyn) and Sid.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Melvin and Betty; her brother – Jim (Jeanie) Richards; and her ex-husband – Eugene Geissler.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 27, at Sweeney’s Y Go By in Cornell. A graveside service date will be announced later.
