David A. Bachler David A. Bachler

David A. Bachler, 61, Holcombe, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, after having multiple strokes.

David was born Dec. 2, 1961, to Robert and Irene (Bosinske) Bachler, in Ladysmith.

He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Hohlfeld, Nov. 15, 1980. They were married 42 years, and raised two children, Nicholas and Natasha. His three granddaughters were his “Beauties” and they called him “Beast!” They loved his barbecued chicken and requested it often.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Northern Clearing Inc., for 20 years.

David was an avid outdoorsman and he loved the cold weather, plowing snow and ice fishing, with his friends and brothers-in-law. He was always the first to offer help, no matter what, no matter where.

He was a very giving man, and that is why he decided to become an organ donor; even if he could only help one person, he thought it would be worth it.

David was given the nicknames of Turbo and BooBoo! Tinkering outside in his garage and driving his tractor were his happy places.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years – Cynthia, Holcombe; his two children – Nicholas Bachler (Sommer Fiore), Holcombe, and Natasha (Ryan) Gay, Neenah; his grandchildren – Bailee Gay, Kinslee Gay and Bella Bachler; his mother – Irene Bachler, Holcombe; his sister – Lynn (Don) Lunemann, Bloomer; father and mother-in-law – Richard (Donna) Hohlfeld, Holcombe; brother-in-law – Craig (Betty) Hohlfeld, Turtle Lake; sister-in-law – Crystal Magnuson, Eau Claire; and many cousins; nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father – Robert Bachler; and his brother – Timmie Bachler.

David will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Services were held Tuesday, June 20, at 1 p.m., at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Pastor Paul Messmer officiating. Visitation was from 11 a.m., until the start of service, at 1 p.m. Interment followed at the Holcombe Cemetery.
