Robert J. Crawford, 92, went to meet his Heavenly father Tuesday, May 23, 2023, surrounded by his family, at home.

Robert was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Ruby, to Arthur and Elma (Pugh) Crawford.

He attended school in Cornell.

Robert joined the Army in 1951, where he served in the Korean War, as a clerk typist.

From 1954-58, he owned the Crawford Auto, and Marina Sales and Service in Janesville. Then, in 1960, he started working at Pregnot’s Bakery, along with working at General Motors (GM).

Robert married Maxine Randall, June 1, 1968. He loved fishing, gardening, and helping friends and neighbors any way he could. Once he retired from GM in 1992, he enjoyed baking all kinds of pies, breads and other tasty treats. He loved hanging out with family and friends, playing games and just enjoying their company on their back deck.

Robert’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He will be forever remembered by his wife – Maxine, of nearly 55 years; his children – Michael (Nickole) Crawford, Edgerton, Tammy Crawford, Edgerton, and Laura (Vernon Sr.) Davis Janesville; grandchildren – Tyler (Samantha) Crawford, Milton, Austin Crawford, Edgerton, Vernon Davis Jr., Janesville, and Nathan Davis (Reagan Popp), Beloit; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Arthur and Elma Crawford; five brothers and five sisters.

The family would like to thank the nurses, CNAs, social workers and staff at Agrace Hospice, for the exceptional care and compassion that was shown to Robert.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, at Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services in Milton. Visitation time was from 11 a.m., until time of service at the funeral home.

Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, in Milton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
