Christopher L. Knez

Christopher L. Knez, 64, Cornell, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Vitacare Assisted Living in Bloomer.

Christopher was born March 5, 1959, to Charles and Lillie (Hyland) Knez.

He grew up in Cornell, and attended Cornell Schools until his junior year of high school, when his family moved to Fall Creek. He graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1979.

After high school, he ended up moving back to Cornell. Christopher met Wanda Jensen in November of 1982, and were married the following year, May 30, 1983.

He was a truck driver for Chippewa Rendering and also worked a variety of other jobs.

Christopher enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and cast iron cooking over the open fire.

He was a senior member of the Northern Extreme Offroad Crew, a director of the Chippewa River Rendezvous and also enjoyed volunteering at the local food pantry.

Christopher was a devoted husband and father, who loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife – Wanda; his three children – Kris Knez, Nicholaus Knez and Justin Knez, all of Cornell; two brothers – Charles (Nancy) Knez, Marshfield, Raymond (Rita) Knez, Boyd; one sister – Wanda (Aurther) Langel, Cornell; sister-in-law – Judy Knez, Boyd; brothers-in law – Denny Yousse, Sarasota, Fa., and Rod (Michelle) Jensen, Cornell; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Charles and Lillie; brothers and sisters – Dennis Knez, Kathy Yousse, Penny (David) Tirrel, Tommy Knez (in infancy) and Charles Jensen.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 20, 2023, at the Wisconsin Veteran Farm LLC. & Winery, in Cornell, from 1-5 p.m.
