Marvin “Marv” Morris Larson, 83, Holcombe, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Marv was born July 20, 1939, in Fertile, Minn., to Morris and Helen (Sevald) Larson.

He grew up in the Conrath area, attending the Conrath and Holcombe schools.

Marv graduated from Holcombe High School in 1958. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1962-68, and was honorably discharged.

He was a milk hauler and was employed at the Cornell paper mill for many years. He farmed the majority of his life, which was his passion.

In 1973, Marv married Deloris Knowlton, with whom they had a daughter, Deanna. The last 14 years, Marv shared his life with Marilyn Sonnentag.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed the simple things in life. Marv loved spending time with family and friends. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Marv was also a member of the Holcombe United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter – Deanna (Jason) Bingham, Bloomer; grandchildren – Michael (Morgan), Cayla, Lukas, William and Samuel; his brothers – Ervin (Rose Le-May) Larson and Rodger (Alice) Larson; nieces; nephews; and his partner – Marilyn Sonnentag, and her children.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Morris and Helen; and sister-in-law – Mary Jane Larson.

Services will be held Friday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m., at the Holcombe United Methodist Church. Visitation will start at 10 a.m., until the time of service, at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Messmer and Pastor Terry Sonnentag will officiate.
