Gerry Mae LaRose, 85, Cadott, passed away Jan. 25, 2023, at Vita Care Living in Bloomer.

Gerry was born July 21, 1937, to Clifford and Lola (Olson) Kuster.

She did many things throughout her life, her youth was spent working on the farm, along side her family, and helping to raise her brothers and sisters.

Gerry married Vilas “Slim” LaRose in October 1966, following marriage, she took on her most important role, being a great mother to her three children.

After her children had grown and left home, Gerry Mae found herself walking mile after mile around Cadott, helping those in need, through homecare agencies.

She loved to sew, making her children various clothing items and she invested many hours making quilts, which was her favorite pastime. She made all her family members quilts and created quilts to donate to those in need.

Gerry loved staying busy, and always had at least two or three projects going at any time. She also had a passion for baking, it was not uncommon to smell the aroma of fresh cookies or bread baking before even entering her home. Gerry Mae made every holiday special, by making goodies such as fudge, pies, cakes and cookies.

She is survived by her children – Mary Jo (Dan) Cohoon, Lisa (Bobby) Badboy and Tim (Angie) LaRose; grandchildren – C.J. Shepard, Russell and Trista Rohrssen, Josh, Sarah and Tabitha Ford, Sabrina, Ariahna and Savannah Badboy, and Gennevieve, Henry, Alexander and Titus; great-grandchildren – Rylan, Gavin, Emily, Inara, Addy, Andrew, Lily and Anna; brothers – Clifford and Larry Kuster; and sisters – Sally and Pearl.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Clifford and Lola Kuster; husband – Vilas LaRose; and a brother – Gerald Kuster.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Cadott United Metholdist Church, with the Rev. George Olinske officiating. Interment will be in the Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, Tuesday, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred by the family and will be donated to a cause in Gerry Mae’s honor.

Leiser Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cadott, is assisting the family.
