Glenford “Glen” Logan passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at Zephyrhills, Fla., at the age of 76.

Glen was born April 15, 1946, at Miramar Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calif., to Gilbert “Gib” and Dereen (Malnory) Logan.

He married Hope Geist Nov. 26, 1980, and together, they raised two children.

Glen grew up in Holcombe, and also enjoyed helping out on his grandparents’ dairy farm in Cornell.

After graduating from Holcombe High School in 1964, he received a degree in welding from Wisconsin Technical College in Rice Lake.

Glen was a member of the Local 18 Sheetmetal Union and traveled with his family for several years, to different states, doing welding on nuclear power plants. He was also co-owner of Lake Holcombe Roofing for over 20 years, and he also owned and operated the Sheldon laundromat.

He also owned and operated Northland Transportation for about 10 years, driving semi every week, from Cornell to Alabama. For the last three years, he was a volunteer driver for New Freedom Transportation.

He served on the Sheldon Town Board and after moving to Cornell, he served on the Cornell City Council and many committees for several years. He also served as Cornell municipal judge for about 10 years, earning him the nickname “Da Judge.”

Glen was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting with the Justus hunting group for many years, and especially the last few years, with his grandson, Devin. He also enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado, caribou in Newfoundland, turkey hunting and numerous Canadian fishing trips.

He is survived by his wife – Hope; daughter – Krystyna (Andy) Van Demark; son – Theodore “T.J.” (Kim Cass) Logan; grandchildren – Devin Logan and Lydia, Lincoln and Landon Van Demark; sister – Linda (Steve) Nitek; sisters-inlaw – Pamela (Sean Cantwell) Geist and Heidi Fasbender; brother-in-law – Gary Anderson; many nieces and nephews; and dear family friends (who he thought of as a brother) – James (Shelby) Justus and family.

Glen never met a stranger, as he made all feel welcome. Even though his physical abilities were slowing down, his caring and spunky attitude continued to the end.

A celebration of life will be held July 30, at the American Legion Club Rooms in Cornell, from 1 to 4 p.m.
