Joann M. Clemons Mitchell

Joann M. Clemons Mitchell, 87, passed away at her home in Cornell, Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020. Joann was born Dec. 4, 1932, to John and Hattie (Steinmetz) Clemons. She worked numerous jobs in her lifetime and loved to travel across the United States, taking in the beautiful scenery. Joann never missed an issue of the Bloomer Advance or an episode of Johnny Carson. She enjoyed fishing, camping, campfires, crossword puzzles, dancing and having the occasional cocktail. Joann loved spending time with her family, friends and K9 companions. She is survived by her children – Mike Mitchell, Patrick Mitchell, Tim Mitchell, Kathy Mitchell, Tom Mitchell, Karie Mitchell and Kelli Schindler; sister – Sister Amorette Wagner; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents – John and Hattie; brother – Dr. John Clemons; sister – Geraldine “Geri” Fedie; infant son – John Joseph; and granddaughter – Rebecca Lynn. Private funeral services were held at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer, Saturday, Dec. 5, with a public visitation at the funeral home Friday, Dec. 4, from 4-7 p.m. The service was streamed on the Olson Funeral Home website and Facebook page.
