Dorothy “Dottie” Treloure Boyea

Dorothy “Dottie” Treloure Boyea passed away, Friday, Oct. 2, 2026.

Dottie was born Feb. 21, 1949, to Mildred and Everett Burrows.

She grew up in Gilman, Cornell and Cadott.

Some of her fondest memories, were of working in her mom’s restaurant. It was there, that she caught the eye of her future husband.

Dottie and Neil were married, April 8, 1967, and enjoyed 48 years together, before Neil passed away. During that time, they enjoyed many trips together, seeing the country, until Neil became too ill to travel.

She was employed at the Northern Center, for 25 years, where she made many friendships that lasted her entire lifetime. She always came home with some interesting stories about the State bowling trips she took with her coworkers/ friends. It’s probably safe to say, it’s a good thing these trips didn’t take place during the digital age!

After Dottie’s retirement from the Northern Center, she enjoyed working at several local group homes part-time, because caring for others was in her nature and she felt keeping busy was a key to staying young.

Dottie enjoyed many hobbies, knitting, crochet, crossstitch, reading and baking, but the greatest joy in her life was spending time with her family. She especially loved being a grandma and then, later, a Gigi, when she was blessed with the birth of her great-grandson, Jace. He was truly the light of her life and she was fortunate to be his nanny, for the first two years of his life.

She was also lucky to find a great love again, in her fiancé, Jamie. She always wondered at how she was able to find not one, but two, great men in her lifetime.

Dottie will forever be remembered for her unapologetic sass and her infectious laugh! As one of her daughter’s childhood friends stated, when she heard of Dottie’s passing, “ I’m not sure Heaven is ready for someone like Miss D!”

She is survived by her fiancé – Jamie Barrera; daughter – Melissa (Michael) Selke; grandson – Derrick DeMars (Sierra); granddaughter – Tori DeMars; great-grandson – Jace; sister – Eva Froehner; one brother-in-law – Donald (Roberta) Boyea; several sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-laws; her husband – Neil; her son – Steven; brothers – Lee and Everett; and several brothers and sisters- in-law. Services are at noon, Saturday, Oct. 17, at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. to noon, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
