Lucille M. Dietrich, 92, Thorp, peacefully passed away at Clark County Rehab & Living Center in Owen, Friday, May 23, 2025.

Lucille Mary LeTendre was born to Raymond A. and Helen I. (Randall) LeTendre, Nov. 15, 1932, on the family farm in the Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, the farm that her grandparents, Homer and Ida Randall, began farming, after traveling by covered wagon, from Indiana to Wisconsin.

She went to a one-room school for all eight grades, with one teacher and later attended Cadott High School, graduating in 1950.

Lucille met her future husband, Karl “Tucker” Thomas Dietrich, Jr., when he asked her to attend prom her freshman year. After he returned from two years, in the U.S. Army and spending one year, in Korea, they were united in marriage at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott, Nov. 9, 1954.

Soon after, they started their family, having eight children: Kathy, Mike, Julie, Janet, Karen, Matthew, Dennis and Dawn.

Life for her was busy in many aspects. She was a homemaker, raising eight children, including a set of twins. Sadly, her husband passed at the young age of 46, that left her with four children at home. Lucille raised the children and later, went on to work for many years at the Thorp Care Center and Rosewood Villa of Thorp, as a CNA, on night shift.

After retiring, she had many interests, including being an avid Green Bay Packers fan, NASCAR fan, enjoying doing crossword puzzles, bird watching, reading her daily newspapers, family cookouts, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lucille was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Dawn, for many years, allowing her to remain as independent as she could, in her own home, up until the last few weeks. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family.

She is survived by her children – Kathy Lang, Thorp, Julie (Jim) Kaczmarcik, Lyndon Station, Janet Wampole, Neillsville, Karen (Dale) Neumueller, Thorp, Matthew (Nancy) Dietrich, Thorp, Dennis (Stacy) Dietrich, Greenwood, and Dawn Dietrich, Thorp; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one daughter-in-law – Christine Dietrich, Owen; and nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband – Karl; one son – Mike; two grandsons – Travis and Craig Dietrich; one great-grandson – Jack Welda; two sons-inlaw – Peter Lang and Wayne Wampole; her sister and brother-in-law – Phyllis and Harold Moldrem; and her father and mother-in-law – Karl Sr. and Leone Dietrich.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at St. Bernard/St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. The Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiate and burial will follow in the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Thorp.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Derek Dietrich, Karl Dietrich, James Wampole, Brandon Wampole, Dakota Dietrich, Dawson Dietrich, Mark Neumueller and Dustin Dietrich. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Dietrich and Dennis Dietrich.

Visitation will be held at the church, Saturday, from 9 a.m., until the time of services.
