Sharon Kay Schiszik
July 6, 1946 – March 14, 2026 On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Sharon Kay Schiszik, 79, of
Marshfield, formerly of Spencer, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family while under the compassionate care of Compassus Hospice.
Sharon was born on July 6, 1946, in Marshfield to Ervin and Maybelle (Briesch) Kollmansberger. She grew up in the Greenwood area and graduated from Greenwood High School.
Those who knew Sharon from an early age remember her warm heart, strong work ethic, and the way she naturally made others feel welcome.
In July of 1972, Sharon was united in marriage to Alan Griepentrog at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Although their marriage later ended, the two maintained a lasting friendship and shared the joy of raising their family.
On April 14, 1984, Sharon married her best friend and the love of her life, James "Jim" Schiszik, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Spencer. Together they blended their families and built a life filled with laughter, love, and devotion. Their marriage was rooted in partnership and friendship, and they shared more than 40 wonderful years together.
Sharon spent many years working at Land O'Lakes in Spencer on the factory line. She valued the friendships she formed there and later enjoyed reconnecting with former co-workers through the Land O'Lakes Coffee Club, where stories, laughter, and memories were often shared over a warm cup of coffee.
After Sharon and Jim moved to Marshfield, she became a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Her faith and church community were important parts of her life. Sharon had a creative spirit and especially enjoyed attending card-making classes, where she turned simple materials into beautiful, heartfelt creations. Her handmade Christmas cards were treasured by family and friends, each one crafted with care and personal touches that made them truly special.
She was also highly skilled in crochet and often spent quiet evenings creating thoughtful handmade pieces for loved ones. Sharon found joy in reading and spending time outdoors. One of her favorite pastimes was camping with Ji m at their site on Lake DuBay, where the two enjoyed the simple pleasures of nature.
At home, Sharon shared a special bond with her beloved cats, Reggie and Rugby, who rarely left her side and brought her comfort and companions hip.
Above all else, Sharon treasured time with her family. She loved watching her grandchildren grow and was a familiar face in the stands at many of their sporting events, proudly cheering them on and celebrating their accomplishments. Her love for her family was constant and unwavering, and the memories th ey shared together will be cherished for years to come.
Those who will forever hold Sharon's memory close to their hearts include her devoted husband, Jim Schiszik; her sons, Ryan (De Ann) Griepentrog of Spencer, Mike (Heidi) Schiszik of Elk Mound, and Ryan (Gayle) Schiszik of Plover; her beloved grandchildren, Dyllan (Sierra) Griepentrog, Danika Griepentrog, Joe Schiszik, Jason Schiszik, Dru Schiszik, and Ellie Schiszik; and her siblings, Butch (Myrium) Kollmansberger of Chetek, Patty Behrens of Marshfield, Arlyn (Kathy) Kollmansberger of Spencer, and Scott (Linda) Kollmansberger of Marshfield. She is also survived by her faithful feline companions, Reggie and Rugby, who brought her s o much joy.
Sharon is reunited into heaven with her parents, Ervin and Maybelle Kollmansberger; her in-laws, Earl and Iris Schiszik; her son, Corey Griepentrog; her brother, Dennis Kollmansberger; and her sister, Kimberly Tate.
A memorial service celebrating Sharon's life will be held at noon on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield, with Pastor Katie Anderson officiating. Committal services will be held privately at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service to share memories, offer support to the family, and honor Sharon's life.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sharon's grandsons, Dyllan Griepentrog, Joe Schiszik, Jason Schiszik, and Dru Schiszik.
Honorary pallbearers include her granddaughters, Danika Griepentrog and Ellie Schiszik, along with her goddaughters, Jill Caine and Hattie Ko llmansberger, who held a special place in Sharon's heart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sharon's name may be given to her family, with a charity to be determined at a later date.
