Pallbearers were Rory Schutte, Darryl Schutte, Bill Buettner, Rick Stenulson, Walter Hribar, and Tommy Hribar. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Marie Therese Collier was born on Sept. 10, 1938, in La Crosse, to Milton L. and Anne M. (Routar) Collier. She was raised on a farm in rural Clark County, and received her education in area schools. After completing school, Marie was united in marriage to Marvin C. Schutte on June 6, 1956, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood. They resided in Neillsville before moving to Algonquin, Ill., where they lived until moving to Baldwin in 1972. Marie attended Chippewa Valley Technical College in the late 1970s and completed the C.N.A. course, and then worked at the nursing home in Woodville and Spring Valley. After retiring, they moved to Withee, where they resided until Marvin’s death on Sept. 1, 2020. Marie remained in Withee until moving to Menomonie in August 2022.

Marie was an upbeat and joyful person who had something nice to say about everyone. She was a fantastic mother who loved being with her family. Her pride and joy were her children, and she never hung up the phone without saying “Love you forever.”

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, loved the Lord Jesus, and was strong in her faith. Marie also loved her music, and enjoyed playing harmonica, accordion, and tambourine.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Therese Schutte of Menomonie, Patrick (Wendy) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Norman (fiancé Denise Larson) of New Richmond, and Steve (Sheri) of Menomonie; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; and one son, John, on Aug. 23, 2016.

All expressions of sympathy for the family are welcomed, including flowers, cards, memorials, or donations to the Clark County Humane Society.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.cuddiefh.com. Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
