Colleen Adler, 81, Greenwood, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Greenwood. Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh officiated, and burial followed in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Syth, Ryan Syth, Derek Syth, Edward Syth, Scott Marvin, Dave Scherer, Raju Nandwana, and Ravi Nandwana. Visitation was held at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Colleen Annette Syth was born Oct. 9, 1943, the daughter of Reynold E. and Helen M. (Schmidt) Syth. She was raised and received her education in Greenwood, attending St. Mary Catholic School and graduating from Greenwood High School in 1962. Colleen also attended UW-Eau Claire as a freshman.

She was united in marriage to Richard M. “Dick” Adler at St. Mary Catholic Church on April 8, 1967, and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2017. Colleen was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield from 1963 to 1971 in the records department. When her sons were young, she was involved as a Cub Scout den leader, and over the years, she became heavily involved in making crafts, especially for St. Ann’s Society in Greenwood. Colleen was co-chair for the annual harvest sale at church for over 30 years, and served on the St. Mary parish council as a money counter for many years.

Colleen enjoyed bowling in the ladies’ league for more than 30 years and attended numerous state tournaments.

Gardening was her hobby. She spent many hours weeding her garden and planted hundreds of flowers in their yard. Colleen also enjoyed interior decorations for every season, with Christmas as a favorite. She enjoyed traveling, by car, to the southwest United States to watch the Brewers’ spring training in Phoenix, as well as visiting Las Vegas. Colleen was a passionate fan of all Wisconsin sports teams — Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. She also enjoyed frequent visits to casinos around Wisconsin.

She will be dearly missed by her three sons: Scott (Dawn) of Jefferson, Mark (Jamie) of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Mike (Sarah) of La Crosse; seven grandchildren: Joseph (Ashley), Sophie, Ellisyn, Kailyn, Wyatt, Will, and Stella; two great-grandchildren: Emily and Ava; three brothers: Dennis (Joyce) Syth of Greenwood, Kevin Syth (Diane Opelt) of Hancock, Mich., and Kent (Linda) Syth of Oregon, Wis.; her brother-in-law, Dilip Nandwana of Castro Valley, Calif.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Colleen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard; her parents; and her sister, Luanne Nandwana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the St. Mary Memorial Fund, Greenwood American Legion, or the March of Dimes.
