Delores Wilson Delores Wilson

Longtime Spencer native, Delores V. Wilson, 90, passed away in the evening hours of Wednesday, June 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Serenity House in Marshfield under the compassionate care of Heartland Hospice.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer with Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Following the services, she was laid to rest next to her husband in West Spencer Cemetery in the town of Sherman. Family and friends were invited to gather for a time of visitation on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The honor of pallbearers belonged to Steve Huber, Tom Huber, DJ Woodkey, Marquis Cox, MaTaya McCarron, and Hank Mulder. Mike McCarron served as honorary pallbearer.

She was born Delores Virginia Oelrich on Aug. 5, 1934, in Spencer to the late William and Sophie (Huber) Oelrich. She was a graduate of Spencer High School and lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. She married her husband, Kenneth Wilson, on July 17, 1952, in Iowa. Sadly, he passed away on June 23, 1988. Together they had three children. She was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, now known as Marshfield Medical Center, as a nurse’s aide. Delores enjoyed spending her time crocheting and embroidering beautiful creations. She loved baking, especially Christmas cookies for the holiday season. Spending time outdoors — camping, fishing, and just sitting by the campfire— were great summer memories for Delores.

Those who will cherish her loving memory include her daughter, Barbara McCarron of Colby; her sons, William Wilson of Rainsville, Ala., and Richard (Geralyn) Wilson of Marshfield; her granddaughters, Miranda McCarron and Mollie (Keezy Cox) McCarron, both of Wausau; and her seven great-grandchildren, Mckenna, MaTaya, Eliot, Myah, Maky’Lynn, Mac, and Maizie; along with many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Sophie Oelrich; her husband, Kenneth Wilson; and her sister, Dorothy Vanderhoof.

The family would like to extend their most sincere thank you to Jodi and the rest of the loving and caring staff at Serenity House in Marshfield, as well as the wonderful staff of Heartland Hospice — Miranda and her team.

Delores’ arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home, Spencer. Family and friends are encouraged to visit www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com to share memories and offer condolences.
