James Morrow
James A. Morrow, age 84, of Loyal, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Colonial Health & Rehab in Colby. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Loyal United Methodist Church, in Loyal, with Rev. Kathy Jury officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Medford at a later date.
James Alan Morrow was born on January 6, 1941, in Spencer to Merton V. and Esther A. (Eggett) Morrow. When Jim was five years old, his father died, and he was raised by his mother. He received his education in Spencer, and moved to Colby his junior year in high school to live with his sister after the death of their mother. Jim graduated from Colby High School in 1959, and then attended UW-La Crosse for one year. He then attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago for two years, where he studied electronics. Jim went to work for Motorola in the Chicago area. He was united in marriage to Carol J. Dums on December 14, 1963, at the United Methodist Church in Medford. They resided in the Chicago area and moved back to Colby in 1967, where he worked for American Family Insurance as a salesman. In 1973, Jim moved his family to Loyal after he had purchased the TV repair shop in Loyal. He spent over 45 years repairing electronics and installing antennas, cable TV, satellite dishes, and surround sound systems for the Clark County area.
He had many interests, but especially loved golfing, all sports, car racing, and mowing lawn.
Jim will be dearly missed by his wife, Carol, of Marshfield; his two sons: Greg (Pam) Morrow of Cedarburg and Brian (Jana) Morrow of Ellsworth; three grandchildren: Anna (Cody) Borchardt, Rayce (Remi) Morrow, and Riley Morrow, all of Cedarburg,; three great-grandchildren: Aurora, Aaliah and Luca Borchardt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Pete and Bob Morrow; and two sisters: Myrtle Metzger and Pat Ives.
