Irene Dahl Irene Dahl

Irene A. Dahl, 88, Granton, died on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 24, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton. Pastor Daniel Schoessow officiated. Music was provided by Caroline Helm, organist. Her grandsons served as casket bearers. Interment was in the Windfall Cemetery in Granton.

Irene Arline Keuer was born on Oct. 22, 1932, the daughter of Leslie and Adeline (nee Krause) Keuer. She graduated from Granton High School in 1951 and later that year on Aug. 4 she was united in marriage to Erlin Dahl. Erlin worked in the construction industry and travelled all over the country with Irene by his side. In 1962, they settled on a farm in Granton. Together they farmed and raised their family. Irene loved her family and the farm, baking, taking care of her yard, embroidery and handing out chores. She was a member of the New York Homemakers and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, its choir and Ladies Aid. Irene loved helping out any time she could and spending time with her family.

She is survived by five children: Judith (Eugene) Walter of Granton, Gary Dahl of Granton, William (Sue) Dahl of Coloma, Nancy (Michael) Luchterhand of Loyal, and Patricia Hahn of Spencer; 14 grandchildren: James (Caroline) Walter, Mark (Kim) Walter, Robert (Joely) Walter, Timothy (Janell) Walter, Sandra (Walter) Piskow, Shana (Rick) Tischaefer, Lori (David) Brown, Bryan Dahl, Michelle (Scott) Schultz, Kurt (Angela) Dahl, Jason (Lori) Dahl, Craig (Heather) Dahl, Matt (Marie) Luchterhand, and Chad Hahn: nine step-grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren; a sister, Esther Swenson of Marshfield; a brother-in-law, Byrl (Sonja) Dahl of Chili; and many friends, nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erlin; a daughter-inlaw, Marjorie Dahl; a son-in-law, Douglas Hahn; a grandson, Daniel Walter; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Swenson.
