Margaret “Marge” Plautz

Margaret L. “Marge” Plautz, 91, formerly of Owen, passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls, under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Interment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Family and friends are welcome from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Margaret was born on Jan. 17, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Boh) Urbanz in Willard. She attended Greenwood High School. On April 15, 1950, Margaret was united in marriage to Emil Plautz in Willard. She and Emil lived most of their married life in the Owen-Withee area. He preceded her in death in 2008. She waitressed and cooked at various restaurants over the years, but retired as the head cook at the Owen-Withee schools. _________________________________________________________________________________ and taking road trips around the area. She was a 4-H leader and a Brownie Scout leader when her children were young. She was a member of the Holy Rosary PCCW and the Homemakers of Longwood. Marge is survived by her loving family, including four children: Randy (Chriss) Plautz, Withee, Terry (Linda) Plautz, Owen, Colleen (Dennis) Wendt, Owen, and Kim _____________________________________________________________________________________ Julie Wendt, Melissa (Aaron) Buesing and Mike Plautz; six great-grandchildren: Lauren and Reece Wendt, Jackson and Caden Buesing, Rayna and Suniya Wendt; and a great-great-grandson, Levi Miller. Mike was strong-willed and often had the nickname of “Mule” because of his strong, stubborn personality. He had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal and loving. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time at the family cabin: mowing, managing the lake, and determined to get rid of the beavers. He was full to the brim with knowledge about managing his home away from home, which he gained from his own father, and loved sharing it with his children and grandchildren. Shirley Rose

Shirley Jean Rose, 87, residing in the village of Unity, passed away at home on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023. Shirley was born on May 21, 1936, in Athens; daughter of Sidney and Flora (Coon) Dawson. She was raised in Milan, where she went to school. Shirley was united in marriage to Aurele Larocque on Oct. 3, 1953. They resided in Abbotsford where they raised their family of eight. Shirley and Aurele later divorced in 1979. She later married Raymond Rose, who passed away in 1994. Shirley was a hard working, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and the excellent title of great-grandmother to many. She worked for a few years at Post in Owen, and then moved to Unity. She worked many years at Ray’s Market in Unity. She enjoyed her time playing cards with her friends and family. She also loved the ______________________________________________________________________________________ her companion was her kitty, Sassy. Beverly Joan Denk (Haueser), 95, passed away peacefully at her apartment home at the Neillsville Community Center on Dec. 1, 2023. Beverly was born in Greenwood, on Feb. 11, 1928, to George and Alma (Erickson) Haueser. She attended Greenwood schools and was married on June 23, 1948, to Bernard Denk. During her lifetime, Bev worked at the Greenwood Co-op, Farmers’ Store, Greenwood Legion Hall, F& M Bank and the Greenwood City Hall. Beverly is survived by her three sons: Dennis (Connie) Denk, Steven (Patti) Denk, and Russell (Linda) Denk; her two daughters: Debra Swiggum and Marla (Edward) Ruano; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bernard Denk; sisters: Audrey (Wilbur) Kehrberg and Joyce (Merle) Hales; brother, Garth (Jean) Haueser; granddaughter, Lauren Swiggum; and grandson, Mitchell Denk. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend to so many. She enjoyed walking, reading, playing cards, garage sales, attending church services, and sharing laughs over cocktails with friends and family. Bonnie Degenhardt

Bonnie J. Degenhardt, age 89, of Loyal, passed away at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen, on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, and took the Lord’s hand to walk through His heavenly gates. There waiting for her was the love of her life, Harvey Degenhardt, who passed away on July 19, 2023. Funeral services for both Bonnie and Harvey will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Gregory Michaud will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Degenhardt, Abby Fellenz, Ryan Degenhardt, Steve Tesch, Matt Degenhardt and Kevin Fellenz. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary service, and again on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Bonnie Jean Schmidtke was born to Otto and Flossie Olive (Davis) Schmidtke on Oct. 14, 1933, in Fremont Township, Clark County, Wis. She received her education and graduated from Loyal High School in 1951. On Sept. 18, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Harvey James Degenhardt. They spent 72 years together raising a family of six children. Bonnie was a stay-at-home wife and was a childcare provider. For several years, she worked seasonally at Figi’s in Marshfield. She enjoyed embroidering dish cloths and diligently made sure each child, grandchild and great-great grandchild received a set of her handiwork. In this modern era of computers, Bonnie still kept in touch with all family members with good old-fashioned handwriting of letters and sending cards, whether it was for a birthday, anniversary or holiday. She watched her sons go away to serve our country in the Marines, Army and Air Force, and return home safely. She was very proud of seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to continue this legacy. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its PCCW. Bonnie was also an active member of the Loyal American Legion Post 175 Ladies Auxiliary. Bonnie will be missed her children: Jim (Theresa), Arthur (Patricia), Christine (Gary) Stetz, Bruce (Shannon), Marie (Terry) Schoer and Rosann (Kevin) Fellenz; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Luanne Baker and Lola Brown; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, on July 19, 2023; her parents; one sister, Norita Ella Adler; and one brother, Otto Algene Schmidtke. On behalf of the Degenhardt family, a special thank you to all the staff at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center for their care, kindness and help with making Bonnie comfortable during her final days.
