Lois Jean Brost

1934-2025
Lois Jean Brost, 90, of Medford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 while under the care of Hope Hospice of Medford. Lois was born on July 5, 1934 to Joseph and Grace (Kuhtz) Rumisek. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1952. She married her husband of 69 years, Andy, on May 5, 1956 in Elm Grove. Lois worked at Allen-Bradly in Milwaukee until leaving to start and raise a family. She and Andy moved to Medford where she worked at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County until her retirement.
They had a family of eight children, three daughters and five sons. Lois was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, she held each close to her heart. Lois made a house a home for her family. She could often be found reading, cooking or crocheting afghans for many family members and friends. Last year for Christmas, she made an afghan for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The note on each read “A big hug from mom/grandma.”
