Bestselling Wisconsin author, humorist, singer/songwriter, playwright, and radio show host, Michael Perry, is returning to Colby. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Colby Community Library, with financial support from Thrivent Action Teams and Col LC Christensen Religious and Educational Foundation.

“A Heartfelt and Humorous Afternoon with Michael Perry” will be held at the Colby High School Theater (705 North Second Street) on Saturday, April 6. Doors open at 1 p.m. with the show beginning at 2 p.m. Perry’s books will be for sale, and he will be available to sign them after the show.

Tickets will only be sold at the door. There will be no advance ticket sales. Admission price is $10 for general admission seating. Cash and checks will be accepted—no credit cards.

Perry’s bestselling memoirs include “Population 485,” “Truck: A Love Story,” “Coop,” and Visiting Tom. He has more than a dozen other titles, including “The Jesus Cow,” “Peaceful Persistence,” “Hunker,” and his latest book, “Forty Acres Deep.” His audiobook titles include “Never Stand Behind a Sneezing Cow” and “Clodhopper Monologues.”

Perry was raised on a small Midwestern dairy farm and put himself through nursing school while working on a ranch in Wyoming. He then detoured into writing. He lives with his wife and two daughters in rural Wisconsin, where he still makes an occasional call with the local volunteer fire and rescue service. He hosts the nationally- syndicated “Tent Show Radio,” performs widely as a humorist, and tours with his band “The Long Beds.” “We are really excited to have booked Michael Perry. His last show in Colby in October 2016 helped raise funds for our new library building. We are pleased to have him return. Those who have attended a Perry show before know what an enjoyable afternoon they have in store; first timers will be entertained and wonder where his next show will be,” stated CCL Director Vicky Calmes.
