Clark County Humane Society Adopt-A-Pet • Meet Spike, the CCHS Pet of the Week! Spike came to CCHS when found in the township of Levis. He is a mix of Jack Russell terrier and blue heeler, and is 6 months old, weighing 18.8 pounds. Spike was very relieved to come to the shelter, as he had met up with a porcupine prior to his arrival. His nose and face had lots of quills, so he was very happy our vet team was able to quickly remove them and get him feeling better — he's now doing wonderfully. Spike is a happy, bubbly pup, who is excited to greet visitors. The unusual part of Spike's story is that two more stray pups arrived at CCHS over the next couple of days that looked just like Spike. They had met up with a porcupine too, probably the same one. We're betting they are brothers, as they all have similar Spike personalities. We are just happy they all made it to CCHS, even if it was one at a time! With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the pup. If you're ready for a great new friend to join your family, please submit your adoption application for Spike (or one of his brothers, Quill and Porky) on our website: cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt. Stop in for a visit! If you are interested in sponsoring the CCHS Adopt-A-Pet ad, please call 715-223-2342.
